Reason No. 456 why a person should eat breakfast and lunch

I don’t know if there are really 456 reasons, but I like the sound of the number and it is divisible by three. I know, I’m weird…that was established long ago my blogging friends.

Today I remembered why it is so important to eat three meals a day. This realization came to full fruition this evening when I finally ate a meal.

It all started this morning when I realized I didn’t have time to make a pot of coffee. Now at my house, coffee in the morning is an absolute must, and we generally set it up the night before and put it on a timer. We forgot to do that Sunday night. Needless to say, there was no time to make a pot when I got up and was running a bit behind schedule.  Didn’t stop to get coffee instead I opted to fix a cup at my desk or just have a cup of tea.

OK, no worries right? Wrong. My morning plan for eats consisted of making some weight-control oatmeal in my coffee cup at work. This is what I do a lot of mornings and am very grateful to the instant oatmeal people. I can do this because my coffee is in my black metal Oklahoma State University travel mug.

However, the lack of coffee in travel mug (which was sitting at home on the counter next to the coffee maker that had no coffee) put a pretty big crimp in my morning food plan. If I make a cup of coffee or a cup of tea at work, then my gray U.S. Army Special Forces coffee cup  can’t be used for oatmeal.

OK, so no oatmeal. By the time deadline is over, I realize I am pretty hunger. Luckily, I had stuck an apple in my bag for a snack. Yay, planning! So I ate my apple went to the assignment I thought was today but is really next week.

By the time I got back, I was hungry again but I had enough work to do that going out to grab a bite was not a good idea. My stomach was rumbling pretty good and I broke down and bought a bag of Veggie crisps from the vending machine. These little crisp are crackers with vegetable taste to them and have fewer fat grams than chips. I don’t remember exactly how much less, but it seemed a better choice than Cheetos.

Now that I’m not starving, I finish my work and come home. Mr. X had to work late and told me to get dinner without him. A good thing because I’m hungry…and feeling kind of tired from not getting enough to eat.

So I get dinner, and I don’t really remember eating that fast before, but it was gone quickly. And I ate more than I probably should have…as a result, I feel stuffed.

Reason No. 456 why a person should eat breakfast and lunch? If you don’t, then you will overeat at dinner.

Sorry, I know that was long-winded. It has been a long day.

And you probably won’t hear from me tomorrow…have a really busy day and evening, so I probably won’t have something again until Wednesday, sorry, I know…slacker! :)

OMG – i hear you! I am usually too busy to eat breakfast – and yes, it is the most important meal of the day they say. I have learned to keep granola bars around and slim fast drinks in the office fridge – but sometimes i find myself so busy – i forget. Then i go home and CRASH.
    Thanks for sharing!

Ya gotta eat BREAKFAST! It makes all the difference in how the rest of your eating day goes. I’m a Coos Bay adult who was just laid off her job….but this now affords me the luxury of REALLY working on my health and diet amongst many other things. Read my Blog and you’ll find out how I’m doing!
