John Gunther:

I've always loved No. 4. The dogleg provides a great introduction to the ocean, with a breathtaking view for the downhill approach. My 7-iron shot soared straight toward the flag and then took a big hop and didn't stop until it was off the green. I took a bogey and didn't mind at all.

Ron Jackimowicz:

No. 13. Normally, I'm not a fan of huge par-5s, but this 537-yard behemoth was playing downwind and after a good roll on my tee shot and a solid second shot, I had 100 yards left, and chipped within 25 feet. A brutal birdie putt left me 7 feet short. I missed that par putt by inches and settled for a 6.

In golf, whenever a player intends to make a full swing the rule of thumb is that you should stand with your feet, knees, hips and shoulders on a line that is parallel to the line of shot - a position described as being "square" to the target.

Read story Strong bunker play requires good set-up and practice By Kevin Wheeler, Forest Hills Golf Pro Publisehd: Friday, June 12, 2009

Bunker play is an important part of scoring on the golf course. Better players would rather be in the sand than in the rough, because it is easier to judge a bunker shot than the thickness of the rough.
