John Gunther:

No. 7. The 161-yard par 3 is where I came closest to a hole-in-one, missing by a few inches a decade ago. Trees that have grown up around the hole in recent years frame it nicely.

Ron Jackimowicz:

No. 10. The 185-yard par 3 with the killer view. The tee is elevated 65 feet, so I hit a 6-iron that bounced a few times and rolled onto the front of the green. I three-putted, but what a view. Fantastic.

In golf, whenever a player intends to make a full swing the rule of thumb is that you should stand with your feet, knees, hips and shoulders on a line that is parallel to the line of shot - a position described as being "square" to the target.

Read story Strong bunker play requires good set-up and practice By Kevin Wheeler, Forest Hills Golf Pro Publisehd: Friday, June 12, 2009

Bunker play is an important part of scoring on the golf course. Better players would rather be in the sand than in the rough, because it is easier to judge a bunker shot than the thickness of the rough.
