John Gunther:

The eighth hole is an unusual par-5. Rather than a typical gradual dogleg, this one bends 90 degrees to the right up a narrow fairway. A good tee shot and straight second shot can be well-rewarded here.

Ron Jackimowicz:

No. 17 is a huge risk-reward hole. Playing from the 'Club' tees, this hole plays just 249 yards, but the green is tucked beyond a pond on the left, and the creek guards the fairway on the right. I played safely away from the pond, chipped on and two-putted for a tidy little par.

In golf, whenever a player intends to make a full swing the rule of thumb is that you should stand with your feet, knees, hips and shoulders on a line that is parallel to the line of shot - a position described as being "square" to the target.

Read story Strong bunker play requires good set-up and practice By Kevin Wheeler, Forest Hills Golf Pro Publisehd: Friday, June 12, 2009

Bunker play is an important part of scoring on the golf course. Better players would rather be in the sand than in the rough, because it is easier to judge a bunker shot than the thickness of the rough.
