| A second-grader Serena Bais cuts a piece of material, classroom volunteer Adrienne Black watches and helps her create a clothespin Pilgrim and Indian figure. After reading the book "Molly's Pilgrim" by Barbara Cohen, the class built the small figures with pieces of material, colored pipe cleaners, cotton balls and glue. |

| After they were finished, the clothespin figures were placed in a Pilgrim village made out of building blocks in the back of the classroom. The figures were part of the class' studies about the Pilgrims and early immigrants to America. |

| Maggie Partner, a second-grade teacher at the Lighthouse Charter School in Hauser, helps one of her students create her clothespin Pilgrim Friday afternoon. The class has been reading stories and learing bout the early immigrants to America in their class and this art project was part of the work. |
