Ashley Britton Student Picture
Ashley Britton is a senior honor student at Coquille High School. She has been active at school playing on the volleyball and softball teams, working as prom coordinator, performing as a cheerleader, volunteering through Key Club, and serving as secretary/treasurer of the National Honor Society. Ashley excels at organizing activities, including fundraisers for the student Relay for Life Team and the semi-annual Red Cross Blood Drives.

Ashley is the daughter of Jeff and Samantha Britton. After graduating, Ashley plans to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. She has prepared well academically, excelling in advanced math and science classes. In addition, she has worked parttime in a local dental office. She is a wellbalanced, mature and responsible student leader. Her immediate plans are to enroll at Lane Community College and then later attend Oregon Institute of Technology. She will be missed at CHS next year.

Portia Cornell Student Picture
Portia Cornell is a student of distinction at Coquille High School. One of the qualities that make Portia stand out among her peers is her commitment to quality work. In all of the diverse courses that she has participated in throughout high school, she has always shown effort above expectations. She has excellent communication skills and is highly organized in her ability to break down and complete complex tasks. She interacts well with both faculty and students and demonstrates excellent citizenship and respect for others.

Portia also has demonstrated an excellent commitment to her future career goals. She has been actively involved in Coquille High School's Health Occupations Program as she prepares for a career in the medical profession. She has successfully completed 12 hours of health-related college credit coursework through Southwestern Oregon Community College's 2+2 program, completing all of required coursework with excellent grades. Portia's hard work, dedication and desire for excellence demonstrates that she will be a valuable contributor to the medical profession and in meeting our communities future medical needs.

Portia is the daughter of Jimmy and Laury Cornell. Her immediate plans are to enroll at Southwestern Oregon Community College and then attend Oregon Institute of Technology. Portia will be missed at CHS next year.

Alex Ford Student Picture
Alex Ford has been a student that has let his actions speak for his success at Coquille High School the past four years. Alex may have a quiet demeanor, but his willingness to involve himself in numerous school projects hasn't gone unnoticed. His accomplishments in the classroom have been remarkable as Alex continually challenges himself to reach higher educational standards. His academic success may only be rivaled to his participation in numerous clubs and organizations. Alex has found the time to participate in soccer, lead the CHS Key Club, and play a prominent role in the school's computer tech program. His active schedule doesn't end when he leaves school. He provides service to the Oregon Fish and Wildlife, his local church and the local Salmon Trout Enhancement Program. Staff and students at Coquille have appreciated his efforts in improving our school and community.

Alex is the son of Tim and Robin Ford. His immediate plans are to enroll at Oregon Institute of Technology and study software engineering. His positive outlook and strong work ethic will be missed at CHS next year.

Charlene Ramsey Student Picture
Charlene has been an outstanding art student all four years at Coquille High School. She has an amazing ability to depict human and animal forms with the pencil and prismacolor. Her references almost appear to be intuitive and appear on the page without any visual cues. She is a master with ideas and design creating highly evolved composition with extensive backgrounds and complicated action.

During her senior year her focus moved to cars and mechanical drawing with amazing accuracy and perspective. She has entered work in each of our annual Artwalk Shows and has been a yearly participant in the high school Vision Show completing the reconstruction, tooling, sewing and finishing of a saddle her senior year.

Charlene is the daughter of Roxanne Ramsey. Her immediate plans are to enroll at Southwestern Oregon Community College. She will be missed at CHS next year.
