Julia Denning

Julia Denning is at the top of her graduating class with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Her academic awards and honors include a National Merit Scholar Letter of Commendation, a bronze medal at the 2009 International Sustainable World Project Olympiad, she was a three-time participant in Music in May at Pacific University, along with dozens of other noteworthy achievements. Julia also has dedicated herself to many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, just a few of which are serving as president and community service committee chairman for GBHS's chapter of the National English Honor Society, Southern Oregon Coast Youth Leadership summit organizer in 2007 and 2008, and she has been a student council officer all four years. Julia is a dedicated student, but she also happily serves her community, striving to make Gold Beach a better, happier place to live. Julia works in the nursery and helps run the AWANA store at the First Baptist Church in Gold Beach, she has spent many hours working for the Curry County Home Health and Hospice annual rummage sale, and tutoring and mentoring elementary-age children through various clubs and classes. Julia also has been instrumental in starting up and running the Panther branch of Chetco Federal Credit Union, gladly sacrificing her lunch breaks to provide on-site banking services to students, staff, and faculty at the high school. This school and this town will sorely miss this amazing young woman, but it is only fitting that the world-at-large should finally benefit from her excellence.
