Two teen friends playing a game of ‘car tag’ in trucks arrested in Arizona

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

So what’s up with kids these days?  If I were to do this when I was growing up the police would be the least of my worry, at some point I would have to GO HOME.

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) — Two teenage friends playing a game of “car tag” were arrested after a sheriff’s deputy spotted them driving erratically. Yavapai County sheriff’s spokesman Dwight D’Evelyn said the deputy saw a Chevrolet truck driving just one foot behind a Ford truck, cross over the double yellow line and drive up next to the other truck at about 50 mph.

D’Evelyn said the deputy then saw people in each vehicle waving their hands outside the windows, which made him think it was a road rage incident.

The deputy also saw the Chevy drive on the right shoulder of the road and swerve back and forth while flashing its headlights.

The deputy and backup deputies pulled the trucks over and arrested each driver, who are both 19.

What? I was only playing with the cars momma!

What? I was only playing with the cars momma!

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A baby sea lion wandered onto a busy San Francisco Bay area freeway Monday morning but, after a ride in the back seat of a police car, was safe and resting at a marine center later in the day.

Drivers on Interstate 880 started calling authorities around 5:45 a.m. to report the animal “walking” in the center divider near the Oakland Coliseum, said Peter Van Eckhardt, an officer with the California Highway Patrol.

He said the sea lion likely reached land from a nearby San Francisco Bay estuary and crossed the roadway in the middle of the night.

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Where’s the Beer?  I’ll tell you where the beer is, it’s in Vermont with a little bit of road rash.  The good news there was a nice Vermont cheese shop so a good time was had by everyone!

beerSWANTON, Vt. (AP) — Police say a truck carrying 40,000 pounds of beer overturned in Vermont and closed a highway for several hours.

The truck went off the road Monday morning on Route 78 in Swanton. It rolled over and landed in a swamp on a wildlife refuge. The crash also knocked down some power lines.

Travis Greeno, assistant chief of the Swanton Fire Department, says the truck had to be offloaded before it was pulled out of the ditch. He said it was “going to be a long day.”

The highway was closed for several hours.

The truck driver was not hurt. It is unclear why he went off the road.

No beer spilled into the swamp.
