Udder shock: Woman finds 650-pound cow in pool

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

And just what is wrong with a cow wanting to go for a swim?   I think the only real issue is the amount of poo the cow might leave.  I am pretty sure the pool filters are not equipped to deal with cow pies.

650-pound-cow-found-in-poolSPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Call it udder shock. A South Carolina woman who heard a giant splash in her backyard discovered a 650-pound cow had fallen into her swimming pool.

WSPA-TV reports that the cow fell into Kathy Wydareny’s covered pool on Monday night. The Anderson resident says the cow belonged to her neighbor.

Wydareny was startled by a “giant whoosh” and took a flashlight out to investigate. She called 911 after spotting the cow.

It took five men from the county rescue team to free the cow using a sling.

Wydareny believes the cow got loose and just kept walking, thinking the pool cover was solid ground.

The cow is doing well. Wydareny hopes her homeowner’s insurance will cover the damage to her pool.

Accused animal hoarder allegedly Tasers trooper

Monday, October 19th, 2009

One thing I have come to know in my 41 years of life, using a taser on a Police officer for any reason is probably not going to be in my best interest.  Unfortunately I forgot to mention it to this lady in Maine (she must not be on my newsletter lol).

FARMINGTON, Maine (AP) — A 65-year-old Maine woman was jailed for allegedly assaulting a state trooper with a stun gun during an investigation into whether she was hoarding animals at her house. The woman pleaded not guilty to multiple charges Thursday in Superior Court in Farmington. The woman was under a court order barring her from keeping animals after nearly 70 animals were found at her home in 2004 and she was convicted of animal cruelty.

According to an affidavit, the woman used the stun gun on Trooper Aaron Turcotte on Wednesday after he showed up at her house. He was not seriously hurt.

Woman’s 7-foot-long dog could be record holder

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Now that’s a dog!   Now if only we could teach it to eat politicians in trouble with the law we would solve the feeding issue LOL.   I think this lady may have snuck some miracle grow in the puppies water.

CASSELTON, N.D. (AP) — Boomer may be a buster: Measuring 3 feet tall at the shoulders and 7 feet long from nose to destructive wagging tail, he might be the world’s tallest living dog. Owner Caryn Weber says her 3-year-old Landseer Newfoundland keeps all four paws on the floor when he drinks from the kitchen faucet in her family’s eastern North Dakota farm house.

Woman hurt trying to ’save’ wild emu

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

MOSSY HEAD, Fla. (AP) — A Florida Panhandle woman was flown to the hospital after being clawed by a wild emu she was trying to corral. The woman, who was not identified, purportedly wanted to take it to an animal shelter. An emergency responder said the incident didn’t seem like an attack – the animal was just trying to protect itself.

The woman was treated for a cut on the arm and released Sunday evening.
