Man who left wallet in bank robbery pleads guilty

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Isn’t there some law on the books for arresting someone who is extremely mentally challenged?   I’d say leaving your wallet at the scene of a crime probably puts you at high risk for some sort of stupidity award?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Kansas City man who left his wallet on the counter of a bank he was robbing has pleaded guilty in federal court. Albert Perkins, 40, admitted Thursday that he stole more than $3,100 from First Federal Bank in Kansas City on May 7. Prosecutors said that after he ordered a teller to give him all the $100 bills, he placed his wallet on the counter and handed her a plastic bag.

The teller put money in the bag and handed it back to Perkins, who left without picking up his wallet.

Investigators used his driver’s license to identify him.

An accomplice, 42-year-old Monique Hernandez, also pleaded guilty to her role in the robbery. She admitted that she went into the bank ahead of Perkins and cased the building before reporting back to him.

Redneck fathers of the world unite, NOT!   What kind of person would even think of doing someting this stupid, oh I know, James Williams of Charleston West Virginia.   In the game of baby-sitting your grade is FAIL!

A criminal complaint accuses Williams of putting Natural Ice Light beer into the 11-month-old’s bottle on Friday.

Postal worker pleads guilty to stealing 30,000-plus DVDs sent by Netflix to customers

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

I sure hop this guy likes the movie selection in prison.  If he dies in prison I am sure he’ll win a Darwin award for stupidity.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A former postal service employee has pleaded guilty to stealing more than 30,000 DVDs that moved through a western Massachusetts post office.

Myles Weathers, formerly of Springfield, took DVDs that were mailed by Netflix to customers for a year beginning in January 2007.

Federal prosecutors say the movie rental company alerted Springfield post office officials that a suspiciously high number of DVDs were disappearing. As many as 100 movies a week were disappearing.

Weathers was arrested in February 2008 after investigators filmed him taking DVDs from packages and slipping them into his backpack.

He faces 10 months to 16 months in prison and restitution costs of about $38,000 at his Dec. 23 sentencing.

Weathers’ attorney did not immediately return a call seeking comment Tuesday.

Man hospitalized after being glued to toilet seat in shopping mall

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Just when you thought it was safe to use the restroom.   I can’t believe anyone would find doing this to another person funny.  I think when they catch the culprits the punishment should fit the crime.  They should have to wear a toilet seat around their necks for as long as they are sentenced.

11-11-05_1915CAIRNS, Australia (AP) — A man who used a public toilet in a shopping mall was taken to a hospital to have the toilet seat removed from his backside after someone smeared it with glue in what an official condemned Monday as a sick joke. Police urged possible witnesses to come forward after the 58-year-old man was humiliated in the northeastern city of Cairns by the prank.

An ambulance was called to help the man after he was found stuck by fast-acting adhesive glue to a toilet seat on Saturday in the busy shopping mall.
